1. What we collect
When you use Flirq we collect:
- Email address — to create your account, confirm you're 18+, sign you in, and contact you about the Service.
- Account credentials — a securely hashed password if you choose to set one. We never store your password in plain text.
- Onboarding answers — age range, gender identity, what you're here for, your selected turn-ons.
- Profile details — anything you choose to add to your profile.
- Content you submit — the messages and other content you send within the Service.
- Subscription & billing records — if you subscribe, we keep a record of your subscription status, plan and billing history. Card payments are handled by our processor (see §3); we never collect or store your full payment-card number.
- Approximate location — country only, derived from your IP address.
- Technical data — your browser user-agent, the pages you visit, and the actions you take, for analytics.
We do not collect your real name, phone number, full payment-card number, or precise location.
2. Why we collect it
We use your data to:
- Verify you are 18 or older and keep your account secure.
- Operate the Service — sign-in, your profile, messaging, and email confirmation.
- Email you about your account or changes to the Service.
- Understand how the Service is used so we can improve it and decide what to build next.
3. Where your data is stored
Your account data (email, credentials, onboarding answers, profile, and messages) is stored on our own dedicated server infrastructure.
Aggregated product-analytics events are processed by PostHog Inc. on servers located in the United States. By using Flirq you consent to the transfer of analytics data to the United States.
Transactional email (sign-in links and confirmations) is delivered by Resend (United States).
Subscription payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. The processor handles your card details directly under its own privacy policy; we receive only your subscription status and a billing reference, never your full card number.
4. Cookies & similar technologies
We use two categories of storage:
- Strictly necessary — needed for the Service to function (your sign-in session, your onboarding progress). These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics — used to measure how the Service is used. Where required, we ask for your consent before loading them, and you can decline.
5. How long we keep your data
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. During the current testing phase, data may be retained for up to 90 days after the test ends and then deleted, unless you ask us to delete it sooner or opt in to continued contact for a future launch.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to object to or restrict our processing of it. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@flirq.app from the email you used to sign up. We'll respond within 30 days.
If you are in the UK or EU and believe we've mishandled your data, you have the right to complain to the relevant supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office — ico.org.uk).
7. Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share it only with:
- Our infrastructure and service providers — our hosting provider, Resend (email delivery), PostHog (analytics), and our payment processor (subscription payment processing) — under appropriate data-processing terms.
- Government authorities when required by law.
8. Children
Flirq is strictly 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has signed up, email us and we'll delete the data immediately.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent change. Significant changes (e.g. new third parties) will be communicated by email.
